Top ISWAP Commander Killed In Lake Chad Region

A top commander of the Islamic State of the West African Province (ISWAP), Muhammed Malik, has been killed by troops of the air task force of the Nigerien military.

According to a Counter Insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, Malik died on November 29 from the fatal injuries he sustained during the attack in the Lake Chad region.

Naija News learned that the attack, which led to the killing of scores of ISWAP fighters, was launched by Nigerian troops.

The troops launched a coordinated intelligence-led aerial and ground operation and targeted the jihadist group’s location in the Sabon Tumbun area of Lake Chad on November 24.

Malik is said to have been a member of the Shura Council in Marte before he went for a course in computer engineering and improvised explosive device (IED) making, sponsored by ISIS in lia.

On his return, he reportedly established IED training units where fighters were trained in deploying explosives during attacks.

Many Killed As Troops Bomb Vehicles Conveying ISWAP Fighters In Borno

Meanwhile Scores of ISWAP fighters have been killed by troops of Operation Hadin Kai in Borno State.

Naija News learnerd that the terrorists were bombed in a vehicle conveying them on Sunday.

It was learned that the troops of the Nigerian Army killed the insurgents who moved around the axis of Kau-Shoro’a in Damboa Local Government Area of the state.

The insurgents were said to have been killed by the Super Tucano light attack aircraft recently acquired by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF).
