RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 8 comes to an end this Friday, as finalists Kandy Muse and Jimbo battle it out to be named the winner. In a new interview, the queens talked about being “best friends” but still keeping the competitive spirit.

Drag Race All Stars Finalists Talk About the Competition

During an interview on Good Morning America this week, Jimbo said that the show is an “incredible platform to showcase our drag and connect with people around the world that love art, and love self-expression, and performance, and all the things that make drag magic.”

Jimbo placed fourth on Canada’s Drag Race Season 1, and later competed on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK vs. The World, placing seventh. She’s competing in the All Stars finale against Kandy Muse, the runner-up of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 13.

Kandy called Jimbo her “amazing sister,” adding, “It’s nerve-racking because we’re best friends, but listen. There are $200,000 on the line, and a crown … The fight is not over. We have one more episode to go.”

Kandy Speaks Out Against Anti-Drag Legislation

During the interview, Kandy pointed out that the ACLU Drag Defense Fund has raised over $1 million to protect LGBTQ+ rights in the face of legislation targeting drag performers.

“It’s so important in times like this when our legislators are trying to pass anti-LGBTQ laws, ban drag, and most importantly, they’re trying to come for the trans community,” Kandy shared. “We know that’s deep down at the root of it all.”

Kandy encouraged everyone to donate to the fund and educate themselves about what’s going on, adding, “The fight ain’t over yet.”

The All Stars Season 8 finale will stream on Paramount+ this Friday, as a winner is finally crowned. Who are you rooting for? Let us know in the comments below.
