Up-and-comer Clara McGregor has landed the lead role in new genre-bending feature from French filmmaker Xavier Palud (“Them,” “The Eye”).
McGregor will topline “Noon,” the story of a young woman named Sasha. Kidnapped in a shroud of mystery after an attempted sexual assault, Sasha winds up killing her assailant. She comes to as a prisoner in an abandoned village built on volcanic land. At first alone, she soon encounters four young European strangers, and all become victims of a perverse game in which they are confronted with their fears and demons in a series of insane trials.
Clara Sansarricq and Alexander Akoka of Sugar Mama Productions, whose previous credits include Jesse Eisenberg and Adrian Brody’s “Manodroome,” are producing. The pair praised McGregor’s ability to “embody the resilience and vulnerability essential to Sasha’s character arc.”

“Onscreen, the McGregors have a visceral connection courtesy of either fine acting or bonafide unresolved issues. Director Emma Westenberg largely stays out of the way, allowing their pain to fill the space,” Variety wrote in its review of the film.
The actor also appeared on the 11th season of Ryan Murphy’s long-running FX anthology franchise “American Horror Story: NYC,” opposite Sandra Bernhard and Joe Mantello. McGregor is repped by Paradigm, Elevate Artist Management out of Paris, Range Media Partners, and Yorn, Levine, Barnes.
