How do you get to know whether you have been successful after applying for a diversity visa? To be eligible to apply the DV lottery, one must be a native from a qualifying country. You must be a citizen or national born outside United States of America. You must also be from a country with a low immigration rate to the USA. People born in countries with high immigration rate to the United States of America are excluded from the list.

Applicant must also have completed US high school or the foreign equivalent of US high school. This means that one must have gone through twelve years course of elementary and secondary education in the USA or an equivalent of completion of a course comparable to twelve years of education in the USA.

    Diversity Visa financial requirements

    Before getting approved for a green card in the US, applicants must prove that they are not inadmissible. This is on the ground that the applicant may one day become a public liability. To this end, applicants must show that they have a stable means of support. This can be proved by:

  • Showing personal income or support
  • Proving that you have someone to sponsor you. The sponsor must sign form 1-134 Affidavit of support.

    Below are the guidelines on how to check the diversity lottery 2020 electronically.

  • Go to the US Department of State website
  • Click on CHECK STATUS and continue
  • Enter the number of your confirmation
  • Enter your family name or last name
  • Enter the year of birth
  • Check carefully the security code provided and enters it correctly
  • Then hit submit
  • The next page to appear will tell you whether your application was successful or not.

    • The successful Diversity visa lottery 2020 entrants include only those who registered between October 3rd, and 6th November last year. The US State Department will start processing Diversity Visas and carrying on interviews for the winners in October 2019.
